According to the information provided to us by the Digital Ready Taskforce, those of you living in remote or
regional areas that currently rely on the existing Aurora satellite service for TV reception and are within the TV1 Licence Area,
will be approved for access to the commercial services in mid December 2010.
A subsidy scheme is available for eligible homeowners in regional and remote areas.
Household owners currently receiving the analog signal from a self-help tower may be eligible for the Satellite Subsidy
Scheme (SSS) if this signal is not going to be converted to digital. You can find out if this is the case where you live by entering your details into mySwitch.
The subsidy greatly reduces the cost of getting ready for digital TV by satellite in regional and remote areas. After the subsidy,
the payment for installation is expected to be between $200 and $350, depending on your location
